Girlboss Magazine

Meet the Girlboss Magazine Team

The “Girlboss Family” we always refer to isn’t just an expression. We wouldn’t be where we are without our family of supporters, content contributors, and readers! At the core of our family is the writers and artists who help bring the publication to life. Meet the GB 2.0 Team.

Editor in Chief

For a print designer gone digital with an ever-changing client list, a publication like Girlboss had always been a dream. In May 2019 Carly decided to found the Girlboss project and pursue her vision of a well-designed, branded publication dedicated specifically to empowering and supporting women. Life experience and current events combine to create the need for a publication of this nature to come onto the scene. Carly saw an interest in causes and philanthropy via social media content and sharing, but often users who are inspired to help a cause don’t know how. Girlboss is here to change that. Carly puts over 100 hours into every edition of the magazine as a voluntary effort, receiving no compensation.

Bex Williams is a natural light photographer who specializes in boudoir, branding, and couples photography. Her style is bold, emotive, vibrant colors, and authentic moments. She focuses on supporting women in building their empires and embracing their bodies. Bex is originally from Colorado and when she’s not behind the camera, you can find her with her husband and two sons enjoying the outdoors.

After a trip to Nepal, Casey knew she had to get behind the camera. She mindlessly snapped a picture of some kids working a food cart. When she later looked at the picture it brought tears to her eyes because it told a story of hardship and resiliency. Fast forward to a new camera, and too many lenses to count. Her mission now is to help adventurous souls tell their stories of living a life with purpose.

Emily Broome

The Modern Mom

Born and bred right here in Colorado, Emily was lucky enough to find her perfect partner and became a stepmom in 2017. She has lived through all the ups and downs of blended families, and learned along the way that finding a community that understood this part of her life was nearly impossible.
She is forever thankful for the support of her people, but knows how much easier her path would have been with peers and mentors to experience the journey alongside. Today, Emily is passionate about joining hands with stepmoms who face big mountains every day. Through Wicked Cool Stepmoms, Emily provides the community that she missed so much during her early journey. In addition to her love for helping blended families shine, Emily runs a people operations consulting company called Empossible Denver. For fun, she loves exploring new places, binge-watching crime shows, hanging out with her husband and stepson, and, of course, spoiling her three cats.

The Green Thumb

Jessica is the owner of Mrs. Fancy Plants; a boutique nursery specializing in rare and semi-rare houseplants and florals. From Philodendrons to Alocasias, she loves all the plants! Jessica took her passion for her own plants and became an expert in plant care and maintenance, and slowly evolved her passion into a business! During the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020, Jessica decided to open Mrs. Fancy Plants and sell houseplants out of her home. With business growing, she has expanded to a custom shed in her backyard that has allowed for in person shopping! Jessica is so excited to share her plant knowledge and expertise with the Girlboss community!

Chelsea Carter is a woman with a mission to connect humans with their highest self and with nature. She uses her knowledge as a Breathwork Facilitator, a Primordial Sound Meditation teacher, a Reiki Master, an intuitive mediator and more to provide opportunities for healing curated to each individual. Mindfulness & Meditation

Reverend, MHA Holder, and Destressér Extraordinaire, Michelle Zaleski blends thoughtful prose with wellness science and alternative therapy backed by ongoing research.
